You will be part of the R&D team that delivers data platforms tailored to the needs of the customer in an agile manner. The development of these platforms requires a multidisciplinary team consisting of developers who are not afraid to take initiative and have an eye for quality. Your challenges and responsibilities:
- Be accountable for, and take ownership of the team deliverables. Ensure cross-team alignment.
- Continuous skill development, staying current with industry best practices, and fostering a collaborative and innovative team environment that encourages creativity and problem-solving.
- Assist with, and/or lead (delegated by the manager), the performance reviews and goal setting.
- Plan, organize, and prioritize tasks for the team.
- Allocate resources effectively to meet project deadlines.
- Provide guidance, mentorship, and support to team members.
- Foster a positive and collaborative team culture.
- Resolve conflicts and facilitate communication within the team.
- Ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.
- Conduct code reviews to maintain code quality.
- Identify potential risks and obstacles to project success.
- Develop mitigation strategies and contingency plans.
- Monitor project progress and address issues proactively.
- Communicate project status, updates, and priorities to stakeholders.
- Act as a liaison between the team and upper management.
Ideally, you possess the following qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent practical experience, in Computer Science or a related technical field involving software/systems engineering.
- Minimal 5 years of hands-on software development experience.
- Experience in a team lead or equivalent role.
- Advanced technical expertise in the team’s technology stack.
- Excellent ability to motivate, inspire, and guide team members to achieve project goals and deliver high-quality software solutions.
- Effective communication skills to convey technical concepts, provide feedback, and collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving skills to identify and address technical challenges, make decisions, and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing requirements.
- Willingness and ability to mentor junior team members, share knowledge, and facilitate their professional growth and development.
- Motivation to help cultivate and maintain a respectful, inclusive working environment for colleagues, potential colleagues, and customers regardless of background.
- Affinity with, and interest in open source software and development.
Extra assets are:
- Experience in handling complex projects and coordinating with other teams.
- Proven leadership in guiding and mentoring team members.
- Experience with distributed systems and processing frameworks such as Kafka, Spark, Flink, Storm, âŚ
- Cloud platform knowledge (for example with AWS, Azure, GCP, âŚ).
- Affinity with the Agile development methodology and concepts such as CI/CD.
- Strong communication skills.
